Dr. Sammie L. Young is a retired United States Navy Chief Petty Officer, educator, technology professional, and author with more than four decades of combined military, federal, and academic experience.
Following a distinguished military career spanning over 20 years, Dr. Young continued his commitment to service through federal employment and higher education, teaching and mentoring students in information technology, cybersecurity, leadership, and related disciplines.
His professional background includes leadership positions in military operations, information technology, cybersecurity, storage infrastructure, and organizational management. Dr. Young holds a Doctorate in Computer Science and Cybersecurity along with graduate and undergraduate degrees in technology and management-related fields.
As an educator, Dr. Young brings practical, real-world experience into the classroom, helping students bridge the gap between academic concepts and professional application. His teaching philosophy emphasizes leadership, critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and lifelong learning.
Dr. Young is also the founder of Veteran Elite Services and the author of Betrayed Valor: A Veteran’s Story of Service, Sacrifice & Systemic Neglect, a memoir exploring leadership, service, resilience, and the challenges veterans often face after military service.
